L.Ac Daeyoung Sullivan has joined the Susan Knight Acupuncture clinic in Greenwich, CT.

Daeyoung grew up in Seoul, South Korea. She studied philosophy as an undergraduate , Taoism and Confucianism in a graduate program at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul. A few years after graduation, Daeyoung moved to the United States; she now lives in Cos Cob, CT with her husband and three children.

Daeyoung is currently working on site as an acupuncturist at the Greenwich office of Apollo Management. At Apollo’s office, she treats patients with various work-related symptoms such as neck and back pain, shoulder and wrist pain, stress, anxiety and insomnia. Daeyoung’s preferred treatment methodology includes creating space for nerve signals and blood to flow freely in order to heal affected areas. To do so, Daeyoung uses various Chinese and Korean traditional techniques such as acupuncture, cupping, scraping (Guasha), Tui-na (Chinese style massage), acupressure, moxibustion (burning herbs), and zimjil (Korean heat therapy).

Daeyoung’s father was a chiropractor in South Korea, and her great-grandfather was a famous Korean traditional medicine doctor in North Korea prior to the Korean war. When Daeyoung was a child, she watched her father treat patients and dreamed of being a healer like him someday. After graduating, Daeyoung put her career aspirations on hold to raise a family. One day, when traveling to New York City for a social outing, she injured her back and needed immediate relief. She crawled (literally) to an acupuncture clinic in Koreatown to seek treatment for her injury. Thirty minutes later, she walked out of the clinic and was able to move freely again. This experience inspired her to finally pursue her dream of becoming an acupuncturist.

Daeyoung attended the University of Bridgeport to study Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she met her dear friend Susan Knight. Daeyoung continues her education every summer in South Korea, where she attends classes led by masters of Korean Traditional Medicine. Daeyoung has added several of the techniques learned in these classes to her treatment regimen.

In her spare time, Daeyoung loves reading, walking, painting, and cooking for friends and family.
